April 1: A Healthy Diet
1. When has a diet change made a difference in how you felt? Why do you think what we eat has such an impact on our bodies?
2. Do you notice that what you take in makes a difference in how you feel emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually? What makes you feel better? What makes you feel worse?
3. What roles do scripture, devotionals, sermons, and other resources play in your life? What differences do you notice when you make time each day for those good things?
4. How do you know when your spirit is nourished? How do you know when it is not? What do you do when you feel that you are being worn down?
5. Who or what in your life helps you remember to nourish your spirit?
April 8: Making the Rounds
1. Do you enjoy growing and propagating plants? Why or why not?
2. What item has “made the rounds” in your community? In what way has it made the rounds? What deeper lesson can you learn from this?
3. When have you noticed that one person’s sharing sparks others to share as well? Why do you think this is?
4. In what ways do you share the love of Christ? How do you think sharing Christ’s love in these ways leads to others also sharing that love?
5. What verses most encourage you to share with others? What verses encourage you to share the love of Christ? How do these verses push you to share even when you feel hesitant?
April 15: Words Linger
1. Recall someone’s words that have taken up permanent residence in you. What are those words? Why have they had such a lasting impact on you?
2. What experiences have shown you the importance of guarding your words? How do you pull from those experiences in your interactions now?
3. What do you think characterizes wise and gracious words?
4. Who in scripture would you say best exemplifies using their words cautiously and carefully? Why did you choose this person? What can you learn from them?
5. Who has built you up with their words recently? What did they say? How have you used your words to build others up recently?
April 22: God’s Creation
1. Have you ever attended a sermon in a zoo or some other unconventional location? If so, what was it like? If not, recall a time when you worshiped or prayed in a way that was new.
2. When you see, hear, or feel animals and other parts of nature, what do you think about? Do they remind you of the glory of God’s creative work? What else do they bring to mind for you?
3. Which parts of creation do you find the most awe-inspiring? Why? What do we need to do to protect and preserve these parts of creation?
4. What conservation efforts are happening around you? Are you contributing to these efforts? How do you care for creation each day?
5. Do you think humans care for creation like we should? Why or why not? What changes do you think we need to make? How can we be better stewards of the earth?
April 29: Faith in Uncertainty
1. When have you faced a time of uncertainty? How did you respond?
2. Recall a time when something in nature gave you clarity about a situation you were experiencing. What happened?
3. In what ways does spending time in nature help you to feel God’s presence? How does knowing that God cares for all of creation help you to trust that God also cares for you?
4. What scripture passages and prayers help you to focus on the present and leave your worries to God?
5. Where have you witnessed God’s faithful provision today? How do you stay mindful of both the big and the small ways God provides for us daily?
