A Different Pew, A Deeper Faith

Dear readers,
I am an obstetrician and gynecologist. For a time I was working for free for a small mission hospital that could not afford to pay me. All my life I have wanted to tithe but was unable to because I had no income. Then over the last few years I had a series of four operations on my spine because of spondylolisthesis or a slipped disc.
After the surgeries, I had to stop working as an obstetrician. I turned instead to a hobby. Since my children were young, we have done Sunday school projects every Sunday. I compiled some of these projects into a book with activities like joining the dots, passing through a maze, coloring by number, unscrambling the letters to make words, and other puzzles.
On a non-profit basis I have been selling these books (I have prepared ten of them so far) to parents and teachers who want to teach their children about God in novel and fun ways. So far I have prepared books on Genesis and Exodus, the stories of Jacob, Joseph, Joshua, the prominent Judges, and Christmas and Holy Week. Instead of tithing money, I am tithing my time and talents.
Love,
Carol Peter
