While writing this blog, something the Lord put on my heart to share as a testimony—believe it or not—has to do with a time when I was at a Methodist church breakfast. I was listening to someone who was serving breakfast talk about me, and what she said surprised me. I had left one table to go sit at another one just as a woman approached to talk to the other people at the table I had been sitting at. I heard her say something I had never realized until she mentioned it, and since then, others in my hometown have started talking about it as well. It made me both VERY nervous and quite curious. Even now as I write this blog post, I still don’t like mentioning it as I am still trying to get used to the idea that this is a part of my identity within the body of Christ and is how the Lord God has made me. The woman said, “He has a genius-level intellect.” I remember sitting there that day confused, startled, and nervous. I was like, “What did she just say I had?” Prior to this, if you had suggested that I was a genius, I probably would have made a joke of it with a Patrick Star impression, a reference from Spongebob, or by asking if “geniuses” live in lamps.
However, one of the things people have always most commented about and praised me on is my memory. After researching, I learned that genius-level intellect can manifest as having a photographic memory, high levels of intelligence or creativity, being very articulate, and different levels of education or knowledge (some of which I am still pursuing my education in such as musical, language, and even theological subjects). When I learned all of this and discovered that these are in fact my gifts, it became much more apparent to me why some pastors or churches were seeming to become nervous about me, even if I didn’t understand why. The potential of my own gifts was something that I didn’t even know about myself and, quite frankly, I never really cared to know about until now.
Despite this, one of the things I have had to continue to remember and practice, despite my gifts, is that I am still learning and continuing to grow as a writer and as a person. But even more so, as a Christian who loves the Lord Jesus who is the sum of all wisdom, knowledge, and understanding, and in whom are the hidden treasures of wisdom and knowledge as mentioned in Colossians 2:3. For this next chapter of my life, I hope to continue not only edifying and helping the body of Christ become more knowledgeable of Jesus Christ and more Christlike through my gifts, but to also honor the Lord God through high-quality artistic work displaying the glory and depth of the Creator through such works.
If my work has inspired you to become more Christlike and has refreshed you, please be a part of this next chapter by helping share and spread the word of this and all my Christ-centered content, bringing more glory to our Savior by following and sharing my Christ centered content on Instagram.
May Lord Jesus Christ have all the glory!
