Make an Impact Through the Chaplains’ Ministry

July 11, 2024 by Nicole Curtis

At this time of the year, I take delight in sharing news with donors and prospective donors about The Upper Room’s Chaplains’ Ministry program. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of donors, each year we are able to provide nearly 300,000 copies of The Upper Room daily devotional guide to military, VA hospital, and prison chaplains. These chaplains are making a profound difference. Lives are being transformed.

The chaplains supported by this ministry use The Upper Room in a variety of ways to serve the people in their care. Whether through small-group studies, general distribution, or pastoral counseling sessions, the daily devotional guide serves as a trusted companion.

“Our people always start requesting the next issue a week or two before it is ready for use. It is a loved publication.”
—Prison Chaplain, Pennsylvania

“Our veterans love having this reading material. It really brightens their days.”
—VA Chaplain, Kansas

“The Upper Room serves as a beacon of hope, a way to connect daily to God.”
—Active-Duty Member of the United States Air Force

“Many of our residents enjoy The Upper Room devotionals. As an ICE detention center, it is great to have El Aposento Alto, the Spanish version.”
—Prison Chaplain, Michigan

“The patients and families whom I serve are always grateful for the spiritual support the devotional guide offers.”
—Hospice Chaplain, Florida

We give thanks to God for the Spirit’s work through The Upper Room and for the ministry of chaplains who selflessly serve others. These chaplains are beacons of light, reflecting the love and grace of Christ.

You can help shine this light brighter by giving to The Upper Room Chaplains’ Ministry. For $42, you can supply one chaplain with 10 copies per year of The Upper Room for his or her ministry. Thank you for being a beacon of light too, reflecting Jesus’ love and grace. Thank you for giving today.
