June 3: New Seasons
1. When have you wondered where to go next? What do you do when you enter a new or uncertain season?
2. Do you find it difficult to choose what to do when faced with many choices? Where do you seek direction and guidance?
3. How does reading about Abraham’s various seasons encourage you as you enter new seasons? Who else’s story of facing a new season in scripture helps you in times of change?
4. What spiritual practices give you strength to approach new seasons with faith that everything will work out according to God’s purpose?
5. Who in your life serves as an example of faithfully following God anywhere? How do you strive to follow this person’s example?
June 10: Unwelcome Guests
1. Have you ever had an infestation of bugs or some other pest? If so, what happened? If not, how do you think you would handle the situation?
2. When did a bad habit, attitude, or behavior grow and spread to important areas of your life? What did you lose as a result?
3. When have you lost “treasures” that you had been storing up? How did you respond? What spiritual lesson did you learn through that experience?
4. How do you ask for God’s help in removing your bad habits, attitudes, and behaviors? What changes do you notice in yourself when you ask God to help you?
5. What and where is your treasure? How do you ensure that you place more value on eternal rewards than on earthly riches?
June 17: Whose Opinion Matters?
1. Do you have a person or organization in your life that accepts your unwanted items and puts them to good use? How are you encouraged to know that those items will still be valued and useful for someone else?
2. When have you seen value in something that others did not? What led you to see that value?
3. What do you think of Jesus’ choice to welcome those whom others disregarded? Do you think you would do the same? What can we learn from this aspect of Jesus’ ministry?
4. When have you felt like you did not have value? How did God meet you in those feelings and remind you of your worth? What scriptures help you remember your value?
5. What would the world look like if we all inherently valued others simply because they are created and loved by God? Why do you think this is so hard for us to do?
June 24: Giving Thanks Daily
1. When have you surprised someone with something that made them happy? How did they respond? How did you feel seeing them happy?
2. How do you respond when someone does something nice for you? Do you ever forget to thank people for doing nice things for you? Why or why not?
3. How do you think Jesus must have felt when the men healed from leprosy left without thanking him? How do you think he felt when the Samaritan man came back to say thank you?
4. In what ways do you thank God for the blessings you’ve received? What prayers and scripture passages help you to express your thanks?
5. What does a spirit of gratitude mean to you? How do you know when you are living with a spirit of gratitude? Who or what helps you foster gratitude in your daily life?
