January 7: Where God Leads

1. Recall a time when you felt led to reach out to someone. What did you do? How did your interactions with that person affect them and you? What did you learn?
2. Why do you think it is so important to look for ways to connect with the people around you? How do you remain open to opportunities to connect with others?
3. When have you seen God working through your small actions to make a difference? How does it encourage you to know that God can use even our smallest acts to bring love to those around us?
4. What spiritual practices help you pay attention to the movement of the Holy Spirit in your life? How does remaining aware of the Holy Spirit help you become an instrument of God’s love?
5. Who in your life is lonely or in need of connection today? How can you reach out to them?

January 14: Like Esau

1. When have you felt abandoned? Where do you find hope when you feel alone or abandoned?
2. How does your faith help you when you have been wronged by someone? What scripture passages help you find forgiveness and a new perspective?
3. What Bible verses remind you that God cares for you and will always have more than enough for us? How do these verses encourage you and draw you closer to God?
4. Who in scripture besides Esau serves as an example of having enough despite difficult circumstances? What can you learn from their story?
5. List some examples of how God’s provision and generosity have filled the places of disappointment in your life.

January 21: In Any Circumstance

1. Why do you think time spent in nature experiencing creation refreshes the mind, body, and soul for so many people? What other places bring you rest and rejuvenation?
2. When have you noticed something growing and thriving in unfavorable conditions? What did you think about it? What deeper ideas or lessons did it bring up for you?
3. Recall a time when you were unable to choose your situation. How did you respond? Were you able to grow in your circumstances anyway? Why or why not?
4. Why do you think we often struggle to praise and worship God when we don’t like our circumstances? What helps you to glorify God in all situations?
5. Who in scripture praised and glorified God despite not getting a say in their situation? How does their example inspire you to do the same?

January 28: No Words

1. How have the people around you helped you during a time of grief? When others are experiencing grief, what do you do to help them?
2. When has someone’s presence comforted you? Why was their presence so comforting?
3. Have you ever found that there were no words to help someone? What did you do instead? Why do you think words are sometimes not what a person needs?
4. How does God’s presence comfort you in times of grief? What prayers and spiritual practices help you lean into God’s presence?
5. Who in your life is grieving? How will you offer them your presence and comfort today?
