These are photos of Dave Winn, the man I wrote about in my devotional “Dave’s Wave,” which was published on September 17th. He lives with his wife, Kim, in a suburb of Tulsa and was awarded “The Spirit of Transportation” trophy for his outreach to the children on the bus. Dave not only waves and tips his cap to the children, but he prays for them too.

I recently learned that the school district has created an award called “The Spirit of David Winn Award,” and David is the first recipient. He is really making a difference in his community and leading the way for others to serve in whatever way they can.

My husband of 43 years passed away last October; now, more than ever, I realize how much small gestures that communicate “I see you” and “I care about you” can make in someone’s life. I am grateful that God has placed me in a caring church community; I continue to experience God’s amazing grace every day.
