Thank you so much for your valuable comments regarding my previous meditation, “Past and Present.” It is extremely rewarding to discover that the words we read or have been inspired to write can make a difference to ourselves and others.
Although it has been a few years since the episode with the ruined compost, I can still vividly recall the frustration mingled with anxiety I felt at having to suddenly adapt my lesson. As someone who likes to be organized, changing my initial plan at the last minute was stressful. Being disrupted in the middle of something, it isn’t always easy to remain calm when under pressure but it is how we handle interruptions and tricky situations that is more important than the disruption itself. That is why the best option (and sometimes the most challenging) is to let go and allow God to take charge. This can include being patient and adapting in the moments we least feel like it. In my case, waiting for some new compost produced an improved lesson for my students.
Our hopes and dreams, like seeds, require nurturing and time to grow. They need the right conditions. God’s timing is perfect, and even if we need to wait we can trust that our loving Father is allowing us to develop the qualities and skills necessary for the next stage. God may even ask us to change course because God knows and understands us.
I have found this with my plans. As a child I wanted to teach and write. It took a me long time to discover which direction I needed to take with my writing. I had to persevere and make many mistakes along the way. I am so grateful I have had some of my meditations accepted. Maybe you are working toward a God-inspired goal or dream and keep wondering whether or not to give up. Keep going, even if you have to change direction, because the Creator knows what you need.
Wishing you many blessings in your plans for today and your hopes for the future.
