My generation of friends and cousins have seen God’s leading in our commitment, and God has given us many opportunities to express our faith and to serve God and God’s people. Some of us have become doctors serving mostly in mission hospitals and in remote places in our country. A survey was made during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic about the doctors who took care of the patients in the hospitals. It was reported that doctors who were trained in church medical schools were found more often to be caring for patients in remote areas during the darkest time in our country. Some of us have become Bible teachers, faithfully making young people disciples of Jesus Christ. Some of us have become missionaries working in remote areas, serving among those who are in need and live in poverty. Some of us have become teachers and professors, molding lives of young people. Some of us have become homemakers, raising good families.

My next generations of children and grandchildren have also done well and are faithful to the calling of our Lord. Genesis 17:7 says, “I will set up my covenant with you and your descendants after you in every generation as an enduring covenant. I will be your God and your descendants’ God after you” (CEB). My descendants have not only excelled in their professions, but they also meaningfully serve God. God blessed them with new vision, and they have become active participants in the church. They teach Sunday school, sing in the choir, and lead praise and worship. God, in mercy and grace, is using them in various ways. They are faithful partners in God’s mission and ministry. We are blessed to have this generation.
