April 2: Power in Weakness
1. What do you think is your biggest weakness? What is your biggest strength? How do you think God wants us to use our strengths despite our weaknesses?
2. Why do you think God sometimes calls us to tasks for which we feel ill-equipped and inadequate? What can this teach us about God? What can it teach us about ourselves?
3. When have you seen someone use their strengths and their weaknesses to glorify God? How does this inspire you in the work that God is calling you to do?
4. The writer names several people from scripture who felt inadequate but whom God called anyway. Who else in the Bible struggled against feelings of inadequacy? Whose story do you relate to the most? Why?
5. What does it look like to give God our weaknesses as well as our strengths? How does God help us use both our weaknesses and our strengths to serve others?

April 9: Words and Deeds
1. When has someone offered you comfort in a tense situation through their words? What did this teach you about the power of words? How did it change the way you use words to comfort others?
2. Today’s writer says, “Sometimes we underestimate the power of words, thinking only our actions matter in God’s eyes.” Do you think this is true? Why or why not?
3. Have you ever been in a situation in which your words and your deeds became one and the same? In what ways was your experience similar to the writer’s? In what ways was it different?
4. When have you remained silent only to wish later that you had spoken up? How did this change the way you use words?
5. To whom can you offer uplifting and life-giving words today?

April 16: Answered Prayers
1. How can we be confident that God hears our prayers? When have you prayed for something over and over again, but God remained silent? Why do you think God remained silent?
2. When has God answered one of your prayers in an unexpected way? What did this teach you about prayer?
3. Why do you think God’s timing is sometimes different from our own? When has waiting on God’s timing been frustrating for you? When has it been a blessing?
4. Do you agree that God knows what we need before we ask for it? Why or why not? If God does know what we need before we ask, what is the purpose of prayer?
5. When have you felt that God didn’t care about your situation only to discover that God was preparing something for you far better than you could have imagined? What would you say to someone today who feels that God doesn’t care about them?

April 23: My Easter Miracle
1. What are some of your earliest memories of church? Did you grow up in church or begin attending later in life? Why is it important for Christians to be part of a church community?
2. Describe your spiritual journey over the course of your life. In what ways has it been like that of today’s writer? How has it been different?
3. How do you welcome newcomers into your church community? How do you make them feel at home and know that you care about them? What do you hope they see in your church?
4. Name some ways that your church could be more welcoming to visitors. What will you do to make your church more inviting and hospitable?
5. What Easter miracle are your praying for today? In what ways can you help God make this miracle happen?

April 30: A Cheerful Heart
1. How often do you notice a connection between your emotions and the condition of your physical health? Why do you think one can easily affect the other?
2. When have you struggled to find joy in a situation? What do you think God wants us to do when we are having a hard time being joyful?
3. Today’s writer mentions several activities that help her deal with stress and have a more cheerful heart. What would you add to this list? What is the one thing you must do each day to feel well mentally and physically?
4. Name some other scripture passages that speak about the connection between our mental and physical selves. Which of these is your favorite? Why?
5. What is causing you stress and worry today? How can your church community pray for you? How can it support you in other ways?
