Since writing my devotion, my life has undergone significant changes: divorce, working full time, moving into an apartment, and helping to care for my aging, ailing mother. It hasn’t been easy and is often lonely, but in retrospect I am appreciative of the many ways that God has guided me along my journey. With the help and prayers of family and friends, I have been able to navigate some challenging circumstances. God led me to accept a job where I am able to engage with aging seniors each day.
Through these experiences I have developed an increased gratitude for my health, mobility, provisions, and freedoms. I’ve also simplified my life and am learning to make do with much less. My creative pursuits have lessened because of space restrictions and lack of supplies and time. I still regularly submit photographs for the daily Sight Psalms and find joy in seeing the contributions of others. I don’t know what the future looks like, but I’m trusting God to continue to lead me to find new purpose and friendships. This journey has strengthened my faith, taught me resilience, and brought me joy in simplicity. I am grateful for the support of others, for my church, for small acts of creativity, and for God’s guidance toward hope.
